Orbiseed is hiring a full-time Intermediate Machine Learning Engineer to join our fast-growing and diverse team. 

The Orbiseed AI platform uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) to extract, process and summarize commercial property data for insurance brokers and carriers to sell more, manage risk better and reduce operating costs. Orbiseed replaces manual document processing and is faster and more accurate than humans.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will work collaboratively on Orbiseed’s Data Science team to design, build and scale our machine learning solutions. Leveraging the latest techniques and tools, the machine learning engineer will aim to provide business value to our end customers. You will be tasked to fulfill the AI/ML roadmap and vision to deliver high-quality functional solutions. You will also be responsible for managing Orbiseed’s data labelling team and process.

Requirements

• Participate in the full lifecycle of ML-OPS (Data Ingestion/Wrangling to Model Deployment)

• Acquire, analyze, transform and move large, complex risk engineering datasets

• Work with data science & engineering to design, build, maintain and optimize our data management and machine learning architecture

• Data modeling and evaluation of underlying data structure to discover patterns; Generate training datasets, conduct data labelling & manage Orbiseed’s team of data labellers and Subject Matter Experts

• Provide effective communication regarding issues, data labelling status, testing status and potential risks

• Quickly identify and remove bottlenecks, creating an environment where the data science & engineering teams can focus on delivering outcomes

• Help drive continuous improvement in the data science practice at Orbiseed

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer

• Skilled in Data modelling and evaluation and good understanding of Data Science

• Familiarity with database concepts

• Must have strong working knowledge of Python and SQL

• Previous experience parsing PDF documents ranging from 100 to 1,000 pages is a must have skill

• Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders, concurrent workstreams, priorities and deadlines in a high pressure, fast-paced environment

• Passion for problem solving, AI and technology

• Thirst to educate a growing and expanding customer base on AI solutions

• Highly detailed-oriented and self-motivated

• Intellectual curiosity and quickness – we are looking for people who consistently want to learn/know more and who approach problems with creativity and ingenuity

• Proactive team player and strong cross-functional collaborator who is comfortable working with Developers, QA Engineers, and Customer Engagement teams

• Experience in AI/ML within insurance would be an asset

Compensation

• Total compensation package: $100,000 to $110,000

• Comprehensive benefits package

• Compensation depends upon work experience and skill level

Note: Remote work is required during the current Covid-19 environment. The successful candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and excellent communication skills.
